You may know her as the Editor-In-Chief of Rise Up News, a nonprofit media organization that provides resources and solution-based information to  people who are incarcerated. Emma's bylines have also appeared in Cincinnati Magazine, Southeast Ohio and Venue Magazine, among others.

Aside from reporting and writing, Emma served over 1,300 hours for AmeriCorps, where she provided literacy and social-emotional support to ninth grade students in Chicago. She also volunteers as a facilitator for Cincinnati's Youth Council for Suicide Prevention.

It is Emma's goal to inform the public of the challenges youth face, especially within the education and criminal justice systems. She is currently working on a project to strengthen the way trauma is addressed and prevented at both the individual and community levels.

Emma was born and raised in Harrison, Ohio. She graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism.
